Fire detection cables
Fire detection cables are recommended for safety and detection in fire alarms.
For better identification, the fire detection cables are black and red (pairs) and black, white and red (Ternas).
In addition to traditional cables for use in fire systems, we have a new line called Extreme Fire Resistant Cables, they are developed for excellent performance under flame, they are cables that withstand flames of 750ºC for at least 180 minutes without short circuits and with integrity of the continuity (0.25mA). Cables that protect lives and assets at the highest level of innovation and technology.
Due to their extreme high temperature performance, experience has shown that they can often be installed completely exposed. This makes installation quicker and means the cable can be easily inspected, so damage can be easily found.
Use and specify INNOVCABLE EXTREME FIRE RESISTANT – IEC 60331 cables in your project.
In order to avoid external interference, fire detection cables are normally shielded with aluminized polyester tape + drain wire in contact with the aluminum.
Cable construction for fire detection commonly found on the market:
- Bare copper conductor, class 2 stringing
- Insulation in thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride compound (PVC/A) 70° C.
- Aluminized polyester tape + 0.5 mm tinned copper drain wire
- Cover in thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride compound (PVC/E) 105° C
Fire detection cables comply with the following standards:
NBR – 6880 – Copper conductors for insulated cables
NBR – 6148 – Conductors with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation
NBR – 9441 – Execution of fire detection and alarm systems
NBR – 10898 – Emergency lighting system
NBR – 11836 – Smoke detection
NBR 17240 – Fire detection
Fire detection cables are recommended where there is a need for a high level of protection against interference. Furthermore, fire detection cables are very flexible.
We can also manufacture fire detection cables on request in other variations:
Tinned copper conductor
Insulation in other compounds such as XLPE, HEPR, PE…
Cover in LSZH, PE, PVC/E, PVC ST2
They have electrostatic shielding. It can also be used in any other application that requires grounding and magnetic protection.
Suitable for frequency inverter connection.
• Insulation voltage: 300V – NBR 6148
• Routine tests:
Electrical resistance of the conductor at 20ºC
Electrical voltage in Alternating Current
Insulation resistance.
Used in fixed installations of fire alarm systems to conduct analog and digital signals, point-to-point instrumentation, Hart ® protocol, connections of various sensors and meters, powering conventional and electronic relays, in industrial environments generally related to systems and fire detection and alarm, intrusion security systems, remote measurement systems and emergency lighting systems.
