Typically used in control systems on festoon cranes, gantries, ore forklifts, cable winders and cable chains, reclaimers and similar devices. Constructive characteristics of the PVC/PVC flat cable:

CONDUCTOR:
Made up of bare electrolytic copper wires, soft temper, class 6 stranding.
INSULATION:
Thermoplastic PVC compound, for temperatures up to 70ºC.
IDENTIFICATION:
Numbered black conductors.
COVER:
Special thermoplastic PVC compound, extra flexible, black.

Constructive characteristic of the CECO/CEAC flat cable:

CONDUCTOR:
Made up of bare or tinned electrolytic copper wires, soft temper, class 6 stranding.
INSULATION:
CECO™ Elastomeric Compound for temperatures up to 125ºC.
IDENTIFICATION:
Numbered black veins.
COVER:
CEAC™ elastomeric compound in black, flame resistant.

The flat cable is commonly called overhead crane cable, due to its application being used much more in this segment.

The cable may be shielded to protect against electromagnetic interference.
