RIBBON CABLE

Ribbon cable is a popular name for flat or flat cables, used mainly in systems that require constant movement.

In the current times we live in and with the technological advancement of the industry, greater methods are required for lifting and transporting items in different sectors, among the various methods available today is the overhead crane, a characteristic of this equipment is that all its commands are automated. The crane has several components, including the ribbon cable. The ribbon cable is made up of several bare or coated copper conductors according to the customer's request, and is extruded in an extra flexible, high-resistance insulating compound.

Ribbon cable is commonly used in equipment that moves constantly, therefore, companies in numerous segments such as civil construction, industries, timber, industrial automation, among countless other sectors that need ribbon cable.

Ribbon cable has some very positive characteristics, for example, it is resistant to wear resulting from friction, in addition to being resistant to machine traction. It is important to emphasize that the project for the construction of an overhead crane must follow all the requirements of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, as it is equipment that needs to support a large amount of load. In addition to the standards, to guarantee the performance of the product, it is essential to purchase it from a supplier that follows these rules and has good knowledge in the area.

Here are some important standards to be followed when constructing the ribbon cable.

Specifications Applicable to Ribbon Cable

– DIN VDE 0250 part 809
– IEC 60228 cl. 5/6
-IEC 60332-1
– VDE 0298 part 3
-DIN VDE 0295 class 5/6
